New Brewery Kit Inspection in Germany

Some of Team Wadworth went out to Bavaria, Germany this week to check out the kit for the new brewery.

Toby Bartholomew (managing director), Sarah Berry (head of marketing), Andy Weaver (head brewer), Mike Underwood (assistant brewer) and Stuart Sinden (chief engineer) flew to Munich and headed an hour and half south east to Seeon, Bavaria to Camba and BrauKon.

Founded in 2008, Camba originally served as showroom for brewery plant manufacturer BrauKon.  Markus Lohner, founder of BrauKon and Camba, used the small brewery located in Truchtlaching to demonstrate to clients from all over the world what BrauKon brewing equipment could do and following its success, Camba soon became one of the first breweries in Germany to brew international beer styles, was a pioneer of the German craft beer scene and moved to a state-of-the-art brewing facility in Seeon, in 2016.

The Wadworth team had a tour of the brewery and had the first view of the new kit which has been assembled for inspection at Camba brewery.   Stuart carried out all the necessary checks on the equipment ahead of it being shipped over to Devizes later this month.  Andy and Mike then spent the next few days with the brewing team, learning about the equipment, testing the kit and brewing (keep your eyes peeled in the new year for a cheeky little collab lager!).  The team may also have had a few tasters of Camba's beers and fantastic hospitality whilst there!

BrauKon and Camba are a family business and have shared values with Wadworth.  Working with the team in Germany is a true partnership and both teams are excited to be embarking on this journey together.
